Joe Buckley Bio

Heritage Joinery Founder & Director

Joe Buckley is the founder of Heritage Joinery Solutions, a specialist joinery company focused on the restoration, replication and installation of traditional timber windows and doors for period homes, listed buildings and heritage properties across the North West. With more than 20 years of experience in heritage joinery, Joe has built a reputation for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern performance standards, helping property owners preserve the character and architectural integrity of historic buildings while improving longevity, functionality and energy efficiency.

As founder and director of Heritage Joinery Solutions, Joe oversees projects from initial consultation and design through to manufacture and installation. His expertise spans sash window restoration, timber window and door replacement, stained glass restoration, bespoke joinery and conservation-led refurbishment. He works closely with homeowners, commercial property owners, local councils, conservation officers and heritage organisations to ensure restoration projects remain sympathetic to the original character of the building while meeting modern requirements.

Joe is particularly passionate about the preservation of historic timber features and advocates restoration over replacement wherever possible. His work often involves restoring windows that are more than 100 years old, extending their lifespan for future generations and reducing unnecessary waste. Through this approach, he has developed extensive knowledge of heritage construction methods, traditional materials, conservation best practice and the role historic buildings play in maintaining local character and cultural heritage.

Under Joe’s leadership, Heritage Joinery Solutions has grown into a trusted specialist serving both residential and commercial clients, undertaking projects ranging from individual window repairs to large-scale restoration programmes. The company is FENSA registered, a member of TrustMark and regularly works on listed buildings and within conservation areas, where attention to detail and an understanding of heritage requirements are critical.

Joe’s expert commentary has already been featured in leading home and renovation titles, including Ideal Home on planner-rejected uPVC replacement windows, and Homebuilding & Renovating on restoring timber cladding and fireproofing the home. These contributions position him as a trusted media voice on heritage joinery, timber restoration, period property maintenance and practical renovation advice.

Joe can comment on heritage property restoration, traditional joinery, sash windows, timber conservation, listed buildings, conservation areas, period property maintenance, sustainable restoration, historic building preservation, bespoke joinery and the challenges facing owners of heritage homes in the UK.
